Russian Initiative Budgeting
The goal is to ensure transparency of the budget process of the regions and municipalities.The main focus is to increase the efficiency of budgetary expenditures by involving citizens in decision-making processes at the local level and strengthening public control.
Since 2015, the project team’s efforts have focused on introducing and developing on-site budgeting practices. One of the tools to popularize the practice of citizen participation in the budget process was the portal Initiative Budgeting created by the project.
The Portal for Initiative Budgeting is a base of practices of civil initiatives to address local issues with the direct participation of citizens.
