Internet freedom, no control
Internet freedom.
No control.
Freedom Wikileaks.
Lots of slogans. Is that what we need? Is it the right thing to do? I don't like the word slogan at all.
In English, the slogan sounds like a slogan. A slogan is an advertising slogan that aims to boost sales.
A slogan is when I'm emotionally screwed on something I haven't really thought about.
Yes, we need freedom, who lived like I did in the USSR, who loves and values freedom very much.
Find the money
Speaking of freedom, let's put the slogans aside. I remember in Soviet times, many people wanted to leave the country, and some managed to do so. Without returning from abroad, people positioned themselves as political refugees who were fleeing the communist regime. In fact, there were only a few political people, all the others were going for economic reasons. Just like the Arabs are going to Europe today.
I remember in the beginning of perestroika there was a question with copyright of songs. We then asked an American musician if we were infringing the rights. What's the order? Then he said that we could sing anything and as long as it didn't involve money. We will only be claimed rights if we make money (they want their piece of pie) or if we prevent them from making money through piracy.
The point of my introduction is to look for money to gain. By the way, this is how crimes are solved, first of all they look for who benefited from this crime and start digging.
suit up for everything
So, the slogans, what's behind it? I remember the Beatlomania times when everyone loved the Beatles. And then the Beatles couldn't walk quietly down the street, fans everywhere. But then the Beatles broke up and things changed. Now, if they were met, they didn't ask for an autograph, they wanted to step on their feet or get into a conflict somehow, so that they could sue something for their pie.
Courts for everything and everything have become the norm in the west. Google, Apple, Samsung have spent an incredible amount on the courts.
The result is Google maps.
Originally it was a normal map, like Yandex. Maps.
But here, people depicting advocates of justice rebelled against the faces on Google panoramas. They say it's an intervention in their personal lives. It's not an intervention. You're wearing your own face everywhere and showing off, wearing a burka. The real purpose is to sue something.
I once translated a journalism expert from Britain, so he said that when choosing a photograph for an article, they preferred a photograph with more faces. Because all these people will buy the paper later, as well as their relatives and friends. So that was a normal attitude before, and now.
Google smeared their faces. Same story went with the car license plates. They got them, too. They created the technology for it. And since there's technology, they've started to put ads on it as well. I remember going to Murmansk on maps to navigate the area before I went. But all I saw were typical houses and a smear. Even the names of the shops were smeared. I went to Yandex. Maps - beauty, you can see the faces of people, signs, orientated and went.
Total freedom has reached a ban on the DVR. Video recorder is a useful thing. It was not an obvious moment on the road, the video-recording system solves many questions. Besides, a person with a video-recording device will try not to break it.
Wikileaks
In general, I like what they do. There's a reason. But finding real information is a serious and long work, and you need more and faster to feed interest and earn money. That's how the media rolls down to yellow press, simple gossip girl.
When an American soldier shot people in Afghanistan, it was like a shooting range. It's a crime and worth making public. But that's what politicians in the kitchen say, it's not known at what time. You can't put their words on the level of an official statement. This is the kitchen, their opinion can change many times, it is in the process of formation, maybe it is a brainstorming and they go from the contrary, throwing all thoughts, even absurd ... It's gossip and nothing more.
Some politician in a private conversation insulted women, blacks or Chinese. So what? Which one of us didn't do it? Does that mean we're misogynists, racists...? No, we're just people who didn't think twice about it, or were offended by something or someone at the time.
And the head of Wikileaks himself does not want to be responsible for his chatter, so he hides in the Embassy of Ecuador. However, he will say something unfavourable to Ecuador, so they have disconnected him from the Internet. At least don't bite the hand that feeds you.
So he has two relationships - one with himself, the other with the other.
There is a golden rule in the Bible: "Therefore in all things as you want men to do to you, so do you also to them, for this is the law and the prophets.
I'm more attracted to this rule than Assange's double standards.
Again, I like and support Wikileaks, but don't go down to gossip.
Personal freedom
There's a lot of talk on the Internet about personal freedom, about control coming... One of the main protagonists is Assange. He values his freedom and doesn't value another's. That's funny.
The story goes back to the beginning of the Internet, when it was 100% free and uncontrollable. There was an amazing atmosphere of trust, culture, because there were mostly IT people on the Internet.
Looking back at that time, people are claiming total freedom, lack of control. Yes, I'm for freedom, but if I'm attacked on the street, I want someone to control it, to have the police and protect me. I don't want the internet shop to ditch me, not send me, but return the money... I want order, not anarchy.
From time to time I hear that Google collects information about us, Android has the same story, etc. So what?
If you don't want to be known about you, don't post information about yourself, photos in social networks and other places. And for the big thing, who needs you? Somehow they stole access to millions of Facebook accounts and offered to buy them. They got $5 for them. Here's the price of interest in your identity - 0.
Then why should Google and others know a lot about you, though not everything? To anticipate your actions and make them more convenient.
I remember my first impression of using HTC Legend on Android. At first I thought it would be uncomfortable, the screen is small, while you figure it out, you'll find the right one. And then intuitively, guessing my actions produces what is more convenient, that's why it is called a smartphone.
So, what he's collecting isn't dirt, what do you get? He basically collects statistics, studies human behavior to create the most convenient product.
So there's no question of personal freedom, don't flatter yourself.
Kompromaat
However, there are services that collect dirt on you. These are special services. But personally, I'm not at risk, like most people. Who needs me?
Pornosites collect information about users, calculate who is hiding under this nickname, and then blackmail. A number of high-profile people have taken their lives for this reason.
This is who really has something to hide - criminals, perverts, terrorists.
The Navalny Phenomenon
It's not a phenomenon. There is an opposition, professional, prepared, for example, the Apple Party. Or, say, ran for president Sobchak. Why shouldn't Navalny support them? After all, he is incompetent to be in power, neither experience nor education. His goal is banal - to break through to power himself. There is no concern for you, no desire to remove Putin at any cost, no opposition, but to break through to the bunk.
Telegram
Pavel Durov made a messenger with one of the functions - secure encryption. It's being blocked in Russia because it doesn't share the code with the FSB. The FSB motivates it with protection from terrorism, which is good. But in fact, people in power are looking for dirt against each other, and Durov doesn't want any part of it.
So how do we resolve this issue? It's as simple as it used to be. Who needs that kind of protection? Me? I don't need it. Well, you recognize my correspondence, so what? Who needs it. But politicians, people in business, need to protect information, a guest...
This was always decided by using Bradberry. Bradberry is a high quality Canadian smartphone with wiretap protection.
The main thing is that Bradberry is expensive, which is not important for politicians and businessmen. But terrorists, as a rule, are not rich and Bradberry is not used. So here's the filter.
Total
We do not listen to slogans, we do not allow ourselves to be used by Navalny. We think and think.
