Initially, the idea was to carry out not so much a new translation as a correction and update of the Synodal Translation. The Cassian version of the New Testament took into account the achievements of Biblical textual criticism, the connection of the New Testament Koine with the Hebrew and Aramaic languages, as well as some changes that have occurred in the Russian language since the first publication of the Synodal translation.
