Registration of Level 1 domains

The organization ICANN, which manages the domain name system, has completed the list of requirements for new domains of the first level. According to the Associated Press, it was announced that domain names consisting exclusively of digits (like .123) will not be registered.

It was assumed that, in addition to digital domains, the names that coincide with the popular file extensions (.exe, .doc, .jpg, .pdf and .mp3) will be banned, but since it's popular to decide whether or not to expand, it's not so simple, and modern browsers do not confuse Unusual addresses with file names, it was decided to remove this restriction. As for addresses consisting of numbers, they can be confused with IP addresses.

In March of this year, the list of requirements will be approved, and shortly thereafter ICANN will begin accepting applications from companies and various organizations for new root domain names. So, soon, new ones will start to be added to more than 250 existing first-level domains.
