Hebrew - Dagesh

ב - letter beit

Just as in our alphabet (Az Buki Vedi Verb Dobro...) speaking names of letters, so the letter Beit speaking is translated as House.

When I translated, I saw that the names of cities and names can be very different in Russian and English, for example. Babylon and Babilon. I was wondering how it will be in the original? בָּבֶל (Bavel) - Babilon.

Tanakh תנ"ך

The abbreviation Tanakh is formed from the initial letters:

The result is TNCs.
The last letter will be K, because כ is at the beginning of the word, which means it has a dagesh, which means it sounds like K.
But in the abbreviation, it is the last and therefore the dashesh cannot stand, so the abbreviation THKh (sounds Tanakh) turned out.

Doubling

If there is a letter with dagesh inside the text, then it is doubled.
Dagesh is put in letters ב‎ ‎ג‎ ‎ד‎ ‎כ‎ ‎פ‎ ‎ת‎

example:

אַבָּא (abba) - dad.

Here the dagesh makes a B sound and also doubles.

Laryngeal

strong guttural ח ה

weak guttural א צ

The letter ר is not a guttural letter, but it exhibits the properties of a weak guttural. It also does not double, however, there were a couple of examples where there was a doubling.

The sound is formed in the larynx.

Gut sounds are not doubled.
