It so happened that I learned that in every Skype chat window it is possible to use commands, for example /alertsoff will turn off notifications for a particular chat window, respectively /alertson will turn them back on. > After searching a bit, I came across a kind of how-to, it turns out Skype chat has a lot of text commands, similarity to IRC commands. Next, I tried to try all possible ones on the two platforms I have, as it turned out not all and not everywhere works ... I ask under the cut.

  Two platforms - Windows and Linux, in this review we used Windows 7 build 7600 + Skype 4.2.0.169 and Ubuntu 10.04 + Skype 2.1.0.81. If anyone finds out how these commands behave in Skype in other versions, for other platforms or gives some more details on the given commands (unfortunately not with all it was possible to understand) - I will be glad if you let me know and add to the topic.

  /help
List of commands with some description.
Works both in Win7 and in Ubuntu.

  /add [Skype_Name]
Adds a Skype_Name user to the chat.
Win7 - works, if the chat was initially with 1 interlocutor, a group chat is created in a new window, otherwise the contact is added to the same window.
Ubuntu - A group chat is created in the window in which the command was entered.

  /alertsoff
Disable chat notifications.
Works as in Win7 (in win version via GUI settings) both in Ubuntu.

  /alertson [text]
Allows you to specify specific words or text for which notifications will be included, for example your name.
Works both in Win7 and in Ubuntu.

/call [Skype_Name]
Judging by the description, this team must make a call.
Win7 - does not work, shows the list of commands as well as the/help command and all other commands or words in the format "/^ \/([a-zA-Z]) + $/"That is, if the team is not known to Skype, it will issue a list of "known" ones, but it turned out that not all work.
Ubuntu - almost does not work, the call starts to be committed and immediately the status becomes Canceled. As for the rest of the arbitrary spellings, "/^ \/([a-zA-Z]) + $/"Does not call a help list - just displays the text entered by the user.

  /clear
Deletes the chat history. Can not be undone.
Win7 - does not work.
Ubuntu - works, but it seems to clear just the chat window, the history is saved.

  /find [text]
Register-independent search of the first occurrence of text in the chat.
Win7 - works.
Ubuntu - works. The /fa command also works.

  /get banlist
View a list of users who are not allowed to join the chat.
Works both in Win7 and in Ubuntu.

  /get allowlist
View the list of users who are allowed to join the chat.

Removes the user from the chat and prevents his return back there. Ordinary users can not return how and edit the banlist.

Leave chat. It is not possible if you are the creator of the chat.

USERS_ARE_LISTENERS This is the only one I know, but most likely there are more.
This option forbids all users to write messages to this chat room, but this option does not apply to all users, below is a hierarchy of roles with a description. Already managed to make fun of friends and using this function.

  /set password [text]
Sets the chat password (spaces are not allowed).
Win7 - works, but it's not clear where this password should be entered and to whom.
Ubuntu - similarly.

  /set password_hint [text]
A tooltip for the password is set.

Sets the password and prompt with one command.

Description of chat user roles
CREATOR
The participant who created the chat. There can be only one created for one chat. Only the creator can assign the MASTER role.

MASTER
In the description it sounds like "chat hosts", I believe that this is some kind of main role, something like moderators in the chat, only know the limitations. Master can not assign other users to wizards.

  HELPER
Semi-privileged member of the chat. These users will not be affected by the USERS_ARE_LISTENERS option. Helpers do not have the right to change roles to users.

  USER
A regular chat user (the default role, if you are not the creator) allows you to do everything that is usually done in the chat. Also, you do not have the right to change roles to users (not yet verified).

  LISTENER
A user who can read messages from the chat, but has no right to write messages to this chat room.

  APPLICANT
The user who is waiting for the statement to get into the chat. The user can not be downgraded to this role if he was accepted into the chat. (Until the question is resolved, the user who invited the user with the role of a low level gets this role).

  In conclusion, I can say that I will not use all these teams, but it was interesting to get acquainted and I will definitely take something for service. Judging by the differences in response to commands in different versions, I can assume that evolving Skype acquires more graphical interface and loses the ability to execute some text commands. Again, my assumption is that in earlier versions of Skype, the support for chat commands was more kosher. One way or another, there is still time to take advantage of this not all known functional.
