This section presents modules of Bible or companion literature for a number of computer or mobile programs.
Modules are presented in 3 independent sections:
- All languages,
- My set,
- My language.
It is more convenient for someone to have Bible translation modules in all languages on one page.
Someone is interested in only a few languages, for example:
- English,
- Greek,
- Hebrew.
You may
choose and have a set in one section.
You may
choose only one language, then on the page there will be at once all the modules for the selected language:
- All Bible translations,
- Commentaries,
- Dictionaries,
- and so on.
When several languages are selected, we select separately Bible translations or Commentaries or .... If everything is downloaded at once, it will be too long a list and it will be difficult to navigate.
General Menu
In the menu you can select as a program (Quotation, MyBible ...) and get a list of modules for it, and get ALL - a general list, where against each translation are listed all the programs for which we have modules.
Bible translation level
It is clear that there are very
different translations: literal, interlinear, paraphrase, easy language, children's verse ...
There are also different levels of quality, and therefore trust.
We do not speak all languages and can not determine and rank all translations, but there are certain principles. I remember I studied at Bible Institute and Vietnamese studied with me, who had beautiful new Bibles in Vietnamese, but they still used the Russians. I asked them why? "They replied that the Vietnamese translation was not made from the original, but from the French Bible, because the translation is of a very poor quality and they preferred to read Bible in a language that is much worse than their own.
So, we have icons for some translations.
★ - By this sign, we usually mark translations that are basic for their language, where it is obvious and we know. This will help you select the module.
- This sign marks translations that are made not from the original, but from third languages. Once we know for sure about the low quality of the translation itself.
Abbreviations
Abbreviations for Bible Translations - a list is displayed from the same database, only extended, not all Bible translations have created modules. Not all modules have an abbreviation.
Unfortunately, for most translations of Bible there are no official abbreviations, for some there are several abbreviations used, for example KJV, KJ, AV for King James Version.
There are identical abbreviations for various translations. For example BB have Bishop's Bible and Bulgarian Bible.
We can have modules of the same translation of different publications, it is clear that they officially have one abbreviation.
In addition to abbreviation modules have their own unique name, this is usually an abbreviation. But from time to time the above-described conflicts arise, because the rules of abbreviation for the MyBible modules are developed, which are described in the
official website .
Most often, the year of publication, the target language, and the + sign for modules with Strong numbers can be substituted.
At us on a site with cases when the abbreviation of modules MyBible differs from the standard, it is indicated by light gray color.
You can also search by abbreviations. The search goes on the generally accepted and unique abbreviations MyBible.
